CONI Card and IMPACC Equipment Setting Method

 

(Read setting refers to Westinghouse IMPACC CONI Protocol instructions)

  

1. CONI Card Setting

 

CONI(Computer Operated Network Interface) card, which communicates with IMPACC(Integrated Monitoring Protocol and Control Communications) compatible system of Westinghouse Electric Corporation in America, sets as follows.

 

A)   Set CONI card to ISA slot with turning off the power. (Refer to <Figure 1>)

B)   Set Com Baud(of 9600, 1200) and IRQ(IRQ3, IRQ4, IRQ5, IRQ6, IRQ7 ) of CONI card. (Refer to <Figure 2>)

Correspond communication speed to connected equipment speed and set IRQ which isn't used at computer.

C)   Connect no.1 and no.6 line of 6 pin phone jacks to 485 communication cable(Twisted Pair) without polarity division. (Refer to <Figure 3>)

 

Reference) It needs to controll COM, LPT at BIOS setting for not doing conflict with CONI card because of using at IRQ3 : COM2, IRQ4 : COM1, IRQ7 : LPT1, IRQ5 : LPT2, generally.

 

Notice) CONI communication card can not be used at Windows NT/2000/XP etc, but Windows 98/ME because it has to read direct addressing.

2. IMPACC equipment communication connection

 

IQ DP-4000 communication connection

 

Communication connection of IQ DP-4000 Meter use by connecting IPONI(INCOM Product Operated Network Interface) communication card to Communication Connection of <Figure 5>.

After connecting Communication Connection terminal of IQ DP-4000 with Host Connection of IPONI card(<Figure 6>), set address among 0 ~ 4095 (0 ~ FFFh) by using A2, A1, A0 of Address Selector Switch and connect Twisted Pair 485 communication cable to no.1, 2 of Network Connection terminal.

 

Also, communication speed can set by using Function Selector Switch of IPONI card, and if OFF condition, it is 9600BPS, if ON condition, it is 1200BPS, and LED flicker when communication is in progress ordinarily.

Addressable Relay Equipment Instructions

 

<Figure 10> is appearance of Addressable Relay II, and it has 12 terminals such as <Figure 11>.

 

No.1, 2, 3 of <Figure 11> is Output Relay(A, B point),

No.4, 5 and no.6, 7 terminals are input 1, 2,

No.8, 9 is INCOM terminal and connect Twisted Pair 485 communication cable

No.11, 12 is terminal to input external voltage.

Set address among 0 ~ 4095 (0 ~ FFFh) by using A2, A1, A0 of Addressable Relay and set communication speed and Relay type by using DIP switch of <Figure 12>. And external input voltage. External input voltage is 96 ~ 144 V AC or 48 ~ 125 V DC.

RLY and TX LED flicker when communication is in progress ordinarily.

  

3. Communications Hardware type

Cutler-Hammer system equipment can be connected with CONI, serial communication (RS-232C) LAN and WAN etc.

There is communication hardware(Document provided by Cutler-Hammer), as follows.

NetLink : Enables Ethernet TCP/IP and /or Modbus RTU Connectivity for 200 Cutelr-Hammer Devices

o  Bridge multiple Cutler-Hammer devices to an Ethernet network

o  Permits Modbus system to send and receive data from Cutler-Hammer devices

o  Historical data logging

o  Event storage

EMINT : Enable Ethernet TCP/IP Connectivity for Hundreds of Cutler-Hammer Devices

MINT II : RS-232 to INCOM Frequency Shift Key (FSK) Converter for Interfacing to Serial Communications Networks

EPONI/EPONIF : Enables Single Device Ethernet TCP/IP Communications Over CAT5 or Fiber Networks

IPONI/BPONI : Enables Frequency Shift Key (FSK) Communications for a Single Device Over Standard Twisted Shielded Pair Cable

Modbus PONI : Enables Modbus RTU Communications Over an RS-485 Network for the IQ Analyzer, IQ DP-4000, MP-3000 and Other Cutler-Hammer Communicating Devices
